Social media has become so popular it has become a major addiction for millions of people around the world. The effects of social media addiction have only just started to be documented thoroughly. It is fair to say that those who are terminally online care more about a content creators social media and content then they do and do not recognize themselves as having a problem because they are a superfan who wants to be noticed. Mutahar has also admitted to being addicted to the internet in the past and used to doomscroll which can be a serious issue, let’s discuss it.

There is another phrase used as a response by others on the internet when encountering TMI (too much information) or content that comes off as off-putting and out of touch. The phrase is “touch grass” which is used when someone is doing something weird, stupid, or pointless. it means they need to come back to reality, they need to get some fresh air and get back in touch with how the real world works. Created during the COVID-19 pandemic, when everyone was instructed to stay home as much as possible, limiting the amount of social interaction people experienced to mostly-online.
